A tough, hardy 6 year old sprinter with a really good level of proven form in the book, Storm Melody was purchased at the Tattersalls Ascot sale.
A winner, both on good to firm and good to soft ground, he is a versatile performer but his record does suggest he is at his best with a bit of cut in the ground. His top racing post ratings all coming on good ground or softer.
Purchased at the breeze-ups for £60,000 as a two year old, he has spent his whole career to date with a predominantly National Hunt trainer, but has nevertheless shown sufficient speed to win over the minimum trip at Bath (in a £20,000 handicap) and most recently over 6f at Chepstow in June.
Storm Melody had never run on the AW, so we decided to give him a spin, he has shown to run well with - 3rd at Kempton, 1st at Lingfield and another 3rd at Kempton. We will look to keep him on the AW until the flat season returns as he is off a mark of 63.
